| With its broad speed
range and unsurpassed camera compatibility, the PRECISION SPEED CONTROL
2 is the best overall choice for controlling your motion picture camera.
This multi-purpose control solves the problem of irritating scan lines
on computer or video monitors by matching the speed and phase of the
film camera. The PRECISION SPEED CONTROL 2 matches the film camera's
speed to a projected image to eliminate the rhythmic
"breathing" of that image. Also, the crystal accuracy and
resolution of this control provide many additional flickerfree filming
speeds for use with HMI lights.
The PRECISION SPEED CONTROL 2 is a true speed control with over 150,000 different crystal speeds. The speed range is continuous from 1 through 159.999 frames per second (fps) in .001 increments. Speed selections are easily accomplished with six push button switches. A phase shift button slightly increases the filming speed while the camera is running. A camera ON/OFF switch is also provided for convenient operation. Automatic camera recognition enables the control to set the proper drive requirement and top speed limit of each camera. A speed limiting switch is provided inside the control to override this automatic speed limit function. The PRECISION SPEED CONTROL 2 automatically compensates for the internal 24/25/30 fps switch settings on the Aaton, Arri 16SR1 and Arri 16SR2 cameras. This insures proper running speed with these cameras. Prominently located on the front of the PRECISION SPEED CONTROL 2 are a bright red LED tachometer and footage/meter counter with reset and memory backup. The displays automatically compensate for most 16 mm or 35 mm cameras, and can be manually set for feet/meters, three/four perforation pull-down, or 16 Pana. Activation of these internal counter mode switches is indicated by an illuminated yellow LED on the front of the control. All electrical connections are made through a Lemo camera connector and a detachable four foot cable terminated with a proper camera plug. A full range of camera-specific cables are available from Cinematography Electronics. The classic shape of the PRECISION SPEED CONTROL 2 is machined out of solid aluminum. The total weight of the control is only 12 ounces (340 grams). The anodized black satin finish with engraved letters maintains its appearance through years of use. A lightweight black Delrin version is also available. It has the same features, classic shape, and engraved letters, but weighs only 8 ounces (230 Grams). The PRECISION SPEED CONTROL 2 includes a detachable Dogbone Bracket. The Dogbone Bracket allows the control to be mounted to any camera which provides a 3/8-16 threaded hole. Numerous other methods of attachment are possible with our complete line of stylish bracketry. See our Cinematography Electronics bracket literature for additional details. Chosen by cinematographers and camera rental companies for its broad speed range, ease of use, and unsurpassed camera compatibility, the PRECISION SPEED CONTROL 2 is the professional choice for your camera. |
